Arlington, Va. –Brooks and Erin Orpik, along with Tom Wilson joined Make-A-Wish® Mid-Atlantic in hosting the fourth annual Wish Upon a Par at Topgolf in National Harbor on Sunday, Jan. 12. The event offered Caps fans the chance to spend time with the Washington Capitals team in support of local wishes. Capitals players will participate in the event from 4-5:30 p.m. Local wish kids will also be in attendance to spend time with event participants and players to help put a face to the hundreds of local kids battling critical illnesses that Make-A-Wish Mid-Atlantic serves annually, and all the wish kids who are still waiting for a wish that events like this help make possible.
Capitals fans were able to purchase tickets to attend the event and a special meet and greet with players, or bid on the chance to play a round of Topgolf with players. All proceeds benefit Make-A-Wish Mid-Atlantic and local wishes for children with critical illnesses in our community.
Several current and former Capitals players were in attendance, including Brooks Orpik, Tom Wilson, Nicklas Bäckström, Travis Boyd, John Carlson, Nic Dowd, Lars Eller, Radko Gudas, Carl Hagelin, Garnet Hathaway, Braden Holtby, Nick Jensen, Michal Kempný, Evgeny Kuznetsov, Brendan Leipsic, Dmitry Orlov, T.J. Oshie, Alex Ovechkin, Richard Panik, Ilya Samsonov, Jonas Siegenthaler and Jakub Vrána. Coach Reirden and NBC Sports Washington commentators Joe Beninati and Craig Laughlin will also be participating in event, making the day more exciting for wish kids and fans alike.

About Make-A-Wish Mid-Atlantic Make-A-Wish® creates life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. Make-A-Wish Mid-Atlantic serves children who reside in the District of Columbia, Maryland and northern Virginia.
